Obituary

Mr. Edward Partovich

Born February 7, 1922 in Winipeg, Manitoba Canada to David and Helan Partovich. This was the second marriage for both. Helan had two children from her first marriage, Tony and Maxi. David had three children, Lilly, Clara and Lourie and together they had five children, Rosie, Nate, Celia, Harry and Me. There was a lot of love in that family.
Edward also known as Ed came to the United States before his second birthday. He learned the Heating and Air condition business from his brother Louie.
Edward was a Sergeant in The US Air Cor, stationed in China-Burma-India from 1943-1946
In 1949 he married Marilyn and together they purchased their first home for $12,500.00
They moved to San Diego in 1959 with their three children, Joel, Tina and Aric. In 1962 they had their fourth child Roby.
Edward managed a tire store before opening Funky Junk in 1970
His daughter Tina passed away September 19, 2003 of Breast Cancer
His wife Marylin passed away on December 9, 2003
A few weeks later Joel had a stroke and passed away March 21, 2005.
After Joel’s death Edward joined the Mattino YMCA where for the past fifteen years he has enjoyed making new friends and volunteering to raise money to help children of less fortunate families attend summer camps and programs. As a top fundraiser Edward received the nick name “Mr. Ed” which he truly loved.
Ed leaves behind a son Roby and Aric, Daughter in law Karen, Grand Daughters Dana (Husband Don), Amy, Traci, Grandson Craig (Craigs wife Cara) and Great Grand Daughter Blake.
Prior to his passing Edward told his children he had lived a long happy life and it was time to go. At 8am on May 9, 2020 on his own terms he said good bye.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's name, can be made to the Joe and Mary Mottino YMCA. - 4701 Mesa Dr, Oceanside, CA 92056 - (760) 758-0808

So sorry to hear about Mr. Partovich's passing. We have such great memories of running back and forth across the street between houses on Baja Dr. The Partovich's were such a big part of our childhood we all have such great memories of all the summers we spent together hanging out at the pool at the JCC. Their house was our second home growing up. He will truly be missed. Love to all.

My condolences to the entire family. I was very sad to hear of Eddie's passing. I remember Eddie, Marilyn and Lily (Marilyn's mother) coming to the Detroit area when I was young. All the relatives would get together to see them. Eddie was fun and had an endearing and loving personality. The visits were always too short. My mother Evie Gendloff and my brother Mitch had lunch with Eddie 4 1/2 year ago. They told me he was doing great and he drove a pink Cadillac. I thought that was just like him. May his memory be a blessing. All my love, Elise (Gendloff) Zoldan and family.
