Arthur M. Alpert, beloved husband to Estelle (Graf Lipsick). Loving brother of Sydney, a"h, and Myron. Wonderful father to Tom Alpert (Eileen Hagerty), William Alpert (Randal Chicoine), a"h; David (Linda) Lipsick; and Peter (Desiree) Lipsick. Loving grandfather to David, Katherine, and Andrew Alpert, Lee (Ashley) and Robert Lipsick, and Carolyn Lipsick, and great grandfather to Liam Lipsick. Born in Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts to I. Robert and Harriett Alpert, a"h, on Oct. 18, 1918. Graduated Duke University with a B.S.C.E. Served in combat with the Navy in the Pacific Region in World War II. Married Ursula Kronheim, a"h, in 1948; marriage ended only with her death in 1971. Married Estelle Graf Lipsick in 1971 and remained by her side throughout the rest of his life. Worked as a civil engineer, and then for many years in management and banking with the Kempner family businesses in Galveston, Texas. Retired to San Diego, California. Active in synagogue and community life. A kind and generous man and a true gentleman.
