Obituary for Daryl Jay Zack

Daryl Jay Zack
August 19, 1952 - December 10, 2016

Daryl Jay Zack, 64, passed away Saturday morning, December 10, 2016, at Point Loma Convalescent Hospital in San Diego following a lengthy battle with his health.

He is survived by his children, Jared (Amy) and Mikal Zack and their mother Emily Zack, his brother Ronald (Suzanne) Zack, his sister-in-law Anne Mosell, his nephew Aaron Zack, and his nieces Sarah Bassine, Samantha Zack, and Alexandra Zack along with other extended family.

Daryl was born in Huntington Woods, MI, just outside of Detroit, to Samuel and Gloria Zack. He graduated from George A. Dondero High School in 1970.

Daryl’s family business brought him to San Diego, CA in 1980, where he worked in the precious metals industry for the next several years. Over the next several decades, Daryl led an accomplished sales career in the jewelry industry, often receiving national recognition from his company for his strong results.

Daryl had a passion for all animals, particularly dogs and was a proud owner of two Samoyeds, Kaska and Shana. He also was a loyal fan of the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, and University of Michigan Wolverines.

Daryl’s biggest joy in life came through spending time with his family. He had two older brothers who he admired and strove to impress throughout his life. He also was a devoted father to his two sons, and did all he could to ensure their success in life.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 2:00pm at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Daryl’s honor.
