Marcie Merel, Cantor Sheldon Merel's beloved wife of 64 years, passed away Saturday evening, July 23rd. She went peacefully, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind her husband, brother Steve, children Joshua, Daniel and Judith, and grandchildren Jessica, Jesse and Emily.

Born into a close-knit Orthodox community in New York, Marcie went on to lead a fabulous career which included serving as President of San Diego Jewish Family Service.

She will be sorely missed and remembered by all who knew her as a loving friend, loyal confidant, and warm soul.
