Marshall Raffelson was born in Rochester, New York on September 8, 1929, and lived over 60 years of his life in San Diego. His parents were Jacob and Emma Raffelson (deceased). Marshall came to California for college and never left.

Marshall passed away peacefully on November 21, 2015.

Family always came first to him. He was the adoring father of Cheryl Berger and Michelle Silverman, and father-in-law of Randall Berger and Scott Silverman. He was the devoted and very proud grandfather of Lindsey Berger-Garland (David), Heidi Berger, Andrew Berger, Jessica Silverman, and Gracie Silverman. Marshall was also brother to Marjorie Rubin (deceased), and brother-in-law to Irving Hosenpud (deceased), Edythe Weinberg and Anita Hosenpud.

Marshall graduated from UCLA, where he met the love of his life, Marcy (deceased). They were married for 61 joyous years. They raised their family in Point Loma where they happily resided for 51 years.

Marshall was a Real Estate Broker for over 30 years in Point Loma, where he and Marcy were the co-owners of Marina Realty. He was a die-hard fan of both the UCLA Bruins and the San Diego Padres. Marshall’s hobbies included American History, Opera, tennis, and his big green thumb for growing gorgeous orchids. He also enjoyed conversations and the camaraderie of his book club for many years.
