KREISBERG, Rita Margot, age 96 of La Jolla passed away Friday April 3, 2020, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born 8/14/1923 in Berlin Germany. Rita and her brother Robert Lachotzki were fortunate to find a family to hide them during the Holocaust in Utrecht, Netherlands. Their parents and much of the rest of the family were killed in Auschwitz. She moved to the United States in 1953 with her husband and daughter Judith. A beloved Mother and Grandmother, Rita lived in Woodland Hills for 60+ years where she loved taking her dogs for walks and hanging out in the nearby park with other dog lovers. Rita and her dog Lucky moved to La Jolla in 2014. Rita was a devoted animal lover and revered as the family dog whisperer. She had several dogs throughout her life including her beloved childhood German Shepard. She helped train every dog that came into her live and found the purest joy in those animals. She was a collector of friends near and far, and her mastry of language made her an invaluable travel companion. Her relentless curiosity about life, business, world affairs, technology, and travel attracted people of all ages from all walks of life. Many considered her their adopted Oma and deeply valued her advice and wisdom. Rita was an athlete throughout her life and believed it was the key to longevity. Tennis, skiing, and walking her dog were constants and she was walking and weight training even in her final days. She was a formidable bridge player and managed to learn blackjack in the last few months often winning round after round. She kept abreast on the latest adventures of her family, and shared deeply in their worries, joys, and everything in between. Preceded in death by her parents Willy and Elsbeth Lachotzki, and two brothers Robert and Henry. She is survived by her children Judith Hamilton Kirchick, Sandra Hutton and her husband Kevin, Scott Kreisberg and his wife Alicia; grandchildren Nicole Hamilton and her partner Doug, Joshua Kreisberg, and Justin Kreisberg; nephew Fred Lachotzki and niece Elsbeth Van Vielt, and the family pets Coco, Roca, Dakota, Magnum, and Alloy.
