Philip J. Weisman age 78 of Las Vegas, NV passed away peacefully on Friday April 19, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dionisia, his daughter Denise, son Ted (Annie) and grandsons Christopher, Holden and Philip. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy.

He was born on October 27, 1940 in the Bronx, NY, the youngest of five children. Following his service in the United States Air Force, he attended Hofstra University where he met his wife, Dionisia (Diane). They married in 1967 and several years later moved to Oradell, NJ to raise their three children. After college, Phil worked for over 20 years as a corporate executive in Manhattan. Through work, he traveled to many countries around the world and learned to appreciate art and culture. He and Diane frequently enjoyed attending museums and broadway plays.

In 1989, he moved to Las Vegas to work as a vice President at the Rivera Hotel. After retiring from the hotel industry, he became active in commercial real estate investment and development. Along with several partners he also built several self storages. Though retired, he continually was involved in strategic planning and consulting. Additionally, he became involved in several philanthropic opportunities namely with Goodwill Industries and St. John’s Greek Orthodox church. He enjoyed the Greek community and culture (thanks to his wife), especially attending annual Greek Food Festivals.

He was an avid reader. He enjoyed reading the New York Times daily. Social by nature, he enjoyed going to restaurants, playing cards, smoking cigars and most of all sharing stories with friends and family.

A girl on her dad’s lap after a long day in the pool. There is no where I would rather be. It was a pleasure to be your daughter.
