Obituary for James Louis Nerad
James Louis Nerad, 87, of La Jolla, passed away on May 11, 2022. Beloved
husband of Sheila (nee Cohn), brother of his favorite sister Mary Wonderlick (late
Dennis), loving father of Alan (Tina) and Rick (Patty), loving grandfather of
Robert (Amyra), Zoe, and Alex, and known affectionately to his many cousins as
Big Jim. Private interment, a celebration of life to follow on a future date.
From Marinette, WI, Jim moved to Chicago as a young boy and spent most of his
adult life there until he and Sheila retired to San Diego in 2003. In his retirement,
one of Jim’s favorite activities was volunteering with the Senior Volunteer Patrol
for the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
