Cindy Hoffman, born October 21st, 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family in her home in San Diego on January 30th, 2023. Cindy battled ovarian cancer in a fearless two year long fight. She enjoyed a 16 month remission in between treatments. In that time she traveled, spent time with her family, and published a child therapy workbook.

Cindy was exceptionally caring and has always been a natural listener and observer. These qualities inspired her to pursue a degree in Psychology at The University of Maine, Orono and a Masters in Social Work at Simmons University. At age 29, Cindy took a leap of faith and moved across the country to San Diego, CA. There she met Mark Hoffman, her devoted husband of 29 years. She continued to pursue her career as a psychotherapist, with a particular passion for helping young people in crisis. She also raised three children, Halle, Mari, and Harrison. Her children strive to follow her path. To try to grow into someone as kind, strong, wise, independent, and loving as she was. In her spare time she enjoyed her summer vacations in Maine, playing tennis, and taking long walks anywhere and everywhere.

Cindy is survived by her husband and three children, as well as her father Leonard, her brother Mitchell, and her sister Sharon. Cindy also has many loved and cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family. To help fight for a cure, please consider donating to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance through Cindy’s Tribute Page
