Andy Friedman will be missed deeply and eternally by his beloved wife Kristen Friedman, dog Muppet, mother Randee Friedman, father Dr. Richard Friedman, sister-in-law Erin Harris Friedman, mother-in-law Helen Keerma, father-in-law Michael Keerma, sister-in-law Katie Keerma and brother in law John Krisko, as well as his extensive family and community of friends. Andy was a Harvard and MIT trained astrophysicist who was most passionate about the meaning of the universe and the true nature of or origins among the stars. He was a talented musician, artist and writer who spread love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He earned his doctorate from Harvard University, was a post-doctoral fellow at MIT where he was blessed enough to engage in the most pivotal work of his career, The "Cosmic Bell" Experiment" with his colleagues, and worked at UCSD-CASS as a research scientist. Andy was deeply invested in the work and joy of science and delighted in all things related to the natural world. He left behind a prolific body of scientific, artistic and musical work. He was absolutely devoted to his family and friends, and spent his life doing what he loved the most with the people he loved the most. May his memory be a blessing to us all.
