Life Story for Joan Pollak (Belinsky)

Joan  Pollak (Belinsky)

Joan Sally Pollak (nee’ Belinsky), 83, passed away in San Diego, CA on
January 10, 2018.
Born in Detroit on October 9, 1934, to Lily and Irving Belinsky, Joan
graduated from Central High School in 1952.
Joan married her high school sweetheart, Eddie Pollak on February 25,
1954. For 64 years they shared an adventurous and loving life together.
They resided in Southfield until 1975, when they moved to San Diego. They
enjoyed traveling the globe, and the company of dear friends and family.
They passed on their sense of exploration to their children and grandchildren.
Joan will always be remembered for her sense of style, devotion to
those to whom she was closest, and how her smile lit up every room as she
entered.
Joan took great pleasure in the accomplishments of her children and
grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Edward Pollak;
daughter Laura Maio; son Jeffrey Pollak and his long time partner Joy Dornick;
grandchildren Dr.Natanya (Dr. Jason) Mishal; Justin (Jenna) Maio,
Izzy Pollak; Samantha Pollak; three great-grand children, Jordan Lily and
Ethan Mishal; Rachel Maio.
She is also survived by her sister Brenda Zales; sisters-in-law Esther Belinsky;
Tina Belinsky and by many loving nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her dear brothers Arnold Belinsky and Fred Belinsky
whom she loved and admired, and brother-in-law Neil Zales.
