Condolences

Condolence From: SFC WILLIAM FARRELL
Condolence: I was reading about Dr Feldman in Vietnam and then came across his obituary. I am sorry for your loss as Dr. Feldman died much too young. I too am a Vietnam veteran, from Brooklyn, NY and have family in Forest Hills. I wish you all the best as you continue to mourn the loss of your husband, father and grandfather.

Condolence: I had a very special interaction with Ed. He operated on me when I was wounded at Khe Sanh on March 8, 1968. I believe I was his first and only female patient at Charley Med. He saved many lives and I honor him as a real hero.
I feel privileged that I maintained a friendship with Ed for many years. We would call each other on March 8 and marvel that we were alive and well and enjoying life. And I was thrilled to visit him once in California and meet his very special wife, Patti
He had a real sweetness and gentleness about him. Courtesy and courage. A wonderful man who made this world a better place.
With deepest sympathy.
Jurate

Condolence From: First Battalion, 26th Marines
Condolence: Fellow Warriors, Guardians of the Lines and Hunters of the Wolf:

A request was received a few nights ago asking that the word go out that our Doctor and his crew are making a last check of their Unit One's, accoutrements, side arms and all the necessities. Additionally, he let it be known that the aid station and his Corpsmen will be moving just behind the Command Group--he asked that all hands be advised that the aid station will be set up along the main stream and at the coolest and most shady spot at Fiddlers Green. He further directed that the word be passed that he and his Marine Corpsmen will have a wee dram and some chow prepared for those of us who are scheduled to be coming in with the second echelon.

He asked that all hands be advised that he did not plan on such an early movement to the new Command Post, but that he is well aware that we all know that for those of us that drew or draw the Queens Shilling are never surprised at the short notice when orders are made to stand by to move out! He did ask that all hands be patient and hold all the racket down as he is on the hook with our Regimental Commander, Colonel Lowdns, "Lion 6 Actual and Our Doc "Med. Lion 6 Actual" are on a covered Radio Conference Call with "THE 6 ACTUAL."

We are all sadden to see the Chief of our Med. Unit preparing to depart on such Short notice--however, he has taken steps to ensure that when final encampment is made at Miramar THAT THE DETAILED WORD AND FINAL PLANS will be issued to all hands SOON AS POSSIBLE. As we edge into the beginning of evening nautical twilight, please let us join together with the family in praying that the Doc's and his Command's journey is quick, safe and smooth. Let us all remember that we will be making muster ourselves in the not too distant future and Doctor Feldman and those that have proceeded us on this journey will be there to welcome us, each in our turn.

With warm regards, sadness and a heavy heart. In His Holy Name, Semper Fidelis

Ken Pipes, USMC, Ret. for 1st. Bn. 26 Mars.
Khe Sanh, TET. 1967/1968, R. of S. Vietnam.

Condolence: To the Feldman Family. This news brings me great sadness, We have fought for so long to correctly honor Dr. Feldman for his Heroics and his willingness to Serve without regard for his own safety. Ed was more then just a name to me, he was a friend, a pioneer in his field. We will continue to seek his honors., but I will miss his counsel. My prayers are with all of you for a quick healing of your hearts, but not of his memory or love.

Condolence From: The Moyer Family
Condolence: My family has been truly blessed in that what started out as a friendship has turned into a family relationship. The entire Feldman family has embraced my family as their own and we are all better people for knowing and loving each and everyone of the Feldman's. Ed was and is and will always be my HERO! It is rare and special when your Hero is also your friend and in case, a brother. Semper Fidelis Ed.

Condolence: Dear Feldman Family,

I was a CUCP '62 classmate of Ed's and remembered him as a fine person with a great disposition. Five years ago, I had the opportunity to meet him again at the 50th Class Reunion and saw him as the same fine person I knew many years ago. He was only too happy to be there and warmly greeted all of the classmates present. It was at that Reunion that most of us came to know of his military service and heroics.

This year at our 55th Reunion, Ed's absence was noted by all and we were saddened to learn of his advanced illness. Ed was a wonderful person and his passing leaves a big void not only to his family but also to all who knew him.

May you be comforted by the memories of the years you shared with Ed.
