Life Story for Susan Amdur Hayman

Susan Amdur  Hayman
Susan Amdur Hayman passed away on September 29, 2017. Beloved wife of Charles Edmund Hayman; devoted and loving mother to Amy E. Hayman, Alissa H. Weiss (Steven), Andrea E. Hayman; loving grandmother to Sarina M. Weiss; beloved sister to Mark Amdur (Linda). Susan was laid to rest on October 2, 2017 at El Camino Memorial Park, Sinai Lawn in San Diego, CA. Prior to moving from Buffalo to San DIego in 1991, Susan achieved a nearly 15 year career managing a bookstore within the family owned and operated Main Village Pharmacy of Williamsville. Concurrently, Susan earned her Master’s degree in Library Sciences at SUNY Buffalo, after which she became a librarian with the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library system, and later at SUNY at Buffalo. Susan was an active member of Temple Beth El of Greater Buffalo, with involvement in sisterhood as well as a chairperson and librarian of the Myra T. Amdur memorial library. Upon moving to San Diego, Susan enjoyed a 20 year career at the Coronado Public Library, as well as the librarian for Tifereth Israel Synagogue. Susan valued the joy of family bonds, had an appreciation for friendship, a passion for books, a love of music and entertainment, enjoyed travel, and had a fighting spirit and a love of life. May her memory be a blessing.
